Re-insurance activities
- Coordinate the reinsurance renewals with client’s own Insurance Department, checking on the terms and conditions
- Follow-up on aggregate limits erosion and on claims development
- Master proportional & non-proportional reinsurance concepts
- Handle Insurance Premium Taxes, relating to direct insurance policies
- Review & approval of “Swiss Solvency Test” / “Solvency II” reports prepared by the Accountable Actuary
Accounting & Reporting
- Set up initial accounting manual and controlling processes
- Select and implement IT systems (general and insurance technical accounting, internal controls, risk management)
- General and insurance technical bookkeeping entries and periodic closing operations (Swiss / Liechtenstein GAAP / IFRS)
- Local statutory, group consolidation and regulatory reports
- Perform controlling activities
- Follow-up on financial assets according to the investment guidelines
- Assist the external auditors
- Prepare local corporate tax returns
Risk Management
- Perform the Risk Management Officer role as required by the Insurance Supervisory Bodies
- Set up a risk management system including the risk register, risk assessment & analysis, risk evaluation and risk treatment
- Prepare the Own Risk and Solvency Assessment (“ORSA”) as required by the Insurance Supervisory Bodies
- Roll out relevant IT platforms dedicated to Risk Management activities
- Develop an efficient and pragmatic internal control system
- Prepare a Business Continuity Management plan and annual assessment
Compliance & Regulatory requirements
- Perform the Compliance Officer role as required by the Insurance Supervisory Bodies
- Design the annual compliance manual and checks
- Produce an annual compliance report to the Board of Directors
- Prepare the requested annual regulatory reports and submit to the Insurance Supervisory Bodies
- Prepare and submit the initial regulatory business plan for approval by the Insurance Supervisory Bodies and keep it updated
